All about Sinus headaches and Congestion

The medical term Sinus headache is Rhinosinusitis, which generally happens due to any viral or bacterial infection. Mucus is produced by the body cells that help in battling off viruses and bacteria. Mucus combination and inflammation or irritation produce blockage that squares the sinuses. This builds up pressure. Frequently individuals get confused between a sinus and a migraine. Sinus-related pains have some specific indications that migraine pain doesn’t show.

Along with throbbing forehead pain, sinus comes with some common symptoms like;

  • Pain in the eyes
  • Sore throat
  • Nose dripping
  • Nasal congestion
  • Breathing issues
  • Fever
  • Losing of smelling senses

Do sinus pains always comes with congestion?

Congestion is one of the most common indications and causes of sinus pains. This can be due to the swelling and mucus blocking that creates pressure by restricting the required airflow or seepage of mucus. Congestion is the usual companion of Sinus headaches. It is exceptionally uncommon to encounter sinus headache without congestion symptoms. If someone experiences a headache that appears like a sinus migraine but has no symptoms of congestion, then the problem may not be sinus.

The effect of the Sinus infection can increase with respiratory infections and other bacterial or fungal infections. If due to any infection our body leads to the production of more mucus, the problem of a sinus headache will increase. This also leads to an increase in the congestion symptoms and leads to restriction of sinus drainage which leads to more pain.

People enduring sensitivities or upper respiratory disease are inclined to encountering sinus pains. Sinus headaches mostly begin in the morning and increases while the patient bends or does extreme work. Even though there are various over-the-counter solutions showcased given us relief from sinus cerebral pains, they are not very promising or successful on a long-term basis.

Some other common symptoms and causes of Sinus are;

  1. Sinusitis refers to the inflammation that occurs with the growth of bacteria or infections.
  2. If one has a crooked or bend nasal cavity it is referred to as Deviated Septum. It can occur due to abnormal growth or some sort of facial injury.
  3. TMJ, fully known as the temporomandibular joint. If pain is developed due to jaw clenching the day or night or even during sleep, it can contribute to nasal as well as eye pain, which ultimately increases the sinus pain.
  4. Nasal Polyps can lead to problems like widened eyes, enlarged nose, and worse sinus pain.
